Even though I didn't make much art this year and I struggled quite a bit, I'm proud of what I did make. This past year I also think my art reflects my growth in confidence as well as more connection and pride with my culture and myself.

Started as a doodle about how Jonny's probably got a lot of scars, ended with me having a headcanon that he 100% lounges around the ship shirtless

#tw smoking #cw smoking #the mechanisms #jonny d'ville #art #digital art #btw had to actually think about how I think their regeneration works #and most wounds (especially fatal ones) scar and won't go away unless the entire area AROUND it has be be regrown #which resets their bodies (keeping scars gained before or during mechanization)#most scars end up being reset BUT sometimes scars will fade completely bc that's possible it just takes awhile #but some scars are so thick/large that they only go away with a total reset #they'll often throw themselves into the engine/other extreme deaths to reset on purpose bc after a certain point #too much scar tissue is painful/makes it hard to move #normally after getting a burn as large as the one on his back Jonny would immediately try to reset bc burn scars suck #but he doesn't do it this time bc he loves bringing up the fact that tim dropped a grenade on him by accident and needs a reason to #so the scar can stay #really large/severe/or old scars will sometimes last THROUGH a reset but will be less than they were #so when jonny eventually DOES reset the scar doesn't actually go away it just heals enough that it doesn't hurt to lift his arm up #his top surgery scars look thin but if you touch them the scar tissue is super thick so they last through resets #his most recent scar is the stab through the ribs from Ashes

#i then asked her if she wanted to see what happens when im not faking it #then collapsed into a miserable midden of bone and tissue #i had some great talks with her tho. she mentioned how sitting with crossed legs #seemed to be my way of creating a base for my unbalanced body #i want to hope they learned something from me too because i went out of my way #to ask like. hey is stretching supposed to be relaxed. am i supposed to be clenching these muscles.#and i could tell that they'd never considered that someone was missing that piece of the puzzle #thinking about calling them up and seeing if they can bring me in again cus i want more tipsss #and also maybe to get my finger splints resized because they feel TOO BIG AGAIN #except i lost one of them and im embarrassed to tell them fhfjhf

It's honestly shocking I never caught covid working at the studio

#to be fair the vast majority of people cancel if theyre sick when we do confirmation calls the day before #but some people do come in sick or bring their kids in sick #the bad cold i had the first time 110% came from there and my coworker caught it too #also the way people let their babies just drool. all over everything. and dont make any move to clean it up #is astounding. id offer tissues and theyd say 'oh no its fine'#ma'am its not fine im watching drool about to get all over the blankets we would like to use for other babies too #i know it cant be helped sometimes but dbdbDND

#the scar tissue inside my nose made that such a pain but it was still easier than the l pin #oh it feels fucked up #oh it feels so fucked up now #im going to have to try and bring the scar tissue down a bit i did bleed but the hole is just super tight for some reason #my jewelry is all the same size but hoyyyy #im going to have to close the hoop later when the numbing gel starts working #i wonder if the stuff im using on ny chest will work for my nose #i feel like the hole has moved but jm too afraid to actually think about it #oh well maybe i just should get a smaller gauge #i dont plan on ever taking this out again tho okay rip no more face piercings this is too much #just my belly button and my nips thanks #and plenty of tattoks #piercings look so good but they hurt so fucking much and i like to change jewelry so thats not good
